From the micro-ecosystems of our soil to the final elements of our shipping parcels, we manage our studio with deep intention, ensuring our unadulterated botanical preparations leave a gentle, restorative footprint on the earth.

THE SOLAR-POWERED STUDIO
Every single bottle of fine botanical perfume, hand-pressed shower steamer, and artisan simmer pouch is formulated and poured inside our solar-powered studio in Deerfield, Wisconsin. By harnessing the sun to fuel our space, we significantly reduce our manufacturing grid reliance and ensure your aromatic goods are brought to life through clean, renewable energy.

ZERO SYNTHETICS, ETHICAL SOURCE-TRACKING
We believe that what goes onto your skin and into your breathing paths should remain entirely pure. We work exclusively with 100% pure essential oils, hand-gathered tree resins, and raw plant extracts—completely cutting out petroleum-derived aroma-chemicals, synthetic fixatives, and cheap extenders.

• We Know Our Suppliers: We use a select few suppliers who provide full GCMS reporting on their batches, have a transparent supply chain, and who prioritize sustainability initiatives. 
• Organic Alcohol Base: Our fine fragrances are carried exclusively in premium, non-stripping, pure organic cane alcohol.
• Sustainably Sourced Carriers: Our nourishing topical preparations are built on a luxury canvas of lipid-rich, cold-pressed plant carrier oils—including organic golden jojoba, rosehip seed, sea buckthorn berry, and carrot seed oils.
• NO SYNTHETICS: Most pre-formulated fragrance oil used by makers today utilize petrochemical based synthetic ingredients so they are inexpensive. Analu intentionally chooses to use pure essential oils to create formulas from scratch - we do not ever use any pre-made fragrances. This means all of our products are safe for you, your family, your pets, and the environment. If our label says Rose, it is real rose if it says Sandalwood it is real sandalwood - and yes, it is expensive. But quality matters. 
  

REGIONAL BIODIVERSITY & PERMACULTURE
To minimize international shipping loops and reduce our carbon footprint, we prioritize local plant realism wherever possible.

• Dane County Cultivation: We proudly cultivate many of the active botanicals used in our extractions right here in Dane County, Wisconsin. Rose, lilac, white sage, prairie sage, sweetgrass, pine, spruce, cottonwood buds, and more are all from this terroir.
• Organic & Permaculture Principles: We grow over 250 aromatic and medicinal plants utilizing strictly organic methods and permaculture frameworks—building vibrant native soil microbiology, protecting wild pollinators, and avoiding all synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers.
• Artisan Infusions: These estate-grown herbs are hand-harvested at their peak and slowly macerated in our studio to create truly regional, small-batch botanical tinctures.

OUR PLASTIC-MINIMIZED PACKAGING
Traditional cosmetics packaging is deeply reliant on single-use plastics and non-recyclable chemical laminates. We have carefully selected our packaging architecture to prioritize infinitely recyclable glass, compostable elements, and post-consumer recycled materials:

• Glass Containers First: We utilize high-clarity glass bottles, jars, and tubes for our fine perfumes, aromabutters, rollerballs, and car diffusers to ensure our primary vessels remain recyclable.
• Travel-Safe Recycled PET: For our travel hair and body mists, we consciously select high-grade, recycled PET. This lightweight material ensures complete shatterproof safety in your travel bags while keeping existing plastic out of our ecosystems.
• Biodegradable Paper Labels: We print our custom product labels on organic, biodegradable paper stocks rather than industry-standard vinyl or synthetic plastic films.
• Recycled Kraft Collection Boxes: Our rigid collection gift boxes are manufactured using a high percentage of post-consumer recycled paper fibers.
• 100% Compostable Window Pouches: The protective pouches housing our stovetop simmer pots, car diffusers, incense, and shower steamers, are completely plant-based and entirely compostable—including the clear display window.
• Biodegradable Security Seals: We have eliminated heavy plastic shrink-wrapping from our lines. Instead, our containers and boxes are secured using compostable paper seals.
• Paper Raffia & Recycled Fill: Our packages are tied with locally sourced, biodegradable paper ribbon. When we pack your shipping boxes for transit, we use only recycled, biodegradable kraft paper fill to keep your bottles safe.

Our high-performance spray mechanisms are built to unscrew cleanly, transforming your luxury glass vessels into a lifetime refill system. Wholly Rooted Herb Farm
​Nestled across several acres of rolling hills in rural Dane County, Wisconsin, Wholly Rooted Farm serves as the physical, living foundation for our fine botanical extractions.

• Official UpS Botanical Sanctuary: Recognized formally by the United Plant Savers (UpS) Sanctuary Network, our acreage acts as a protected habitat dedicated to stewarding and preserving at-risk native North American medicinal plants.
• Over 250 Cultivated Species: We actively tend and monitor more than 250 varieties of medicinal, aromatic, native, and heirloom crop species.
• Permaculture & Organic Principles: Our farm systems are managed with strictly chemical-free, organic methods and permaculture design frameworks—focusing deeply on soil microbiology, water resilience, and pollinator habitat integration.
• Meticulous Hand-Harvesting: Every local plant utilized in our studio is hand-harvested at its peak to respect the plant material.
• 100% Solar-Powered Dehydration: Once brought in from the fields, our fresh botanicals are either immediately processed into tinctures or transferred to our solar-powered studio space to dry under clean, renewable energy—locking in pristine volatile aromatic profiles.
