Finding My Footing as a Solopreneur: The Human Side of Scent For the past several months, you have found me standing behind my tables at our local markets. I have packed up my vehicle in the early morning dew, driven out to our community squares, and opened up my boxes under the shifting Wisconsin sky. These intense months of face-to-face market runs were never just about retail transactions or moving bottles off a shelf. They were for a deeply intentional reason: for me to be truly face-to-face with you—our community, our customers, and our neighbors. Stepping out from behind the quiet sanctuary of my solar-powered farm makerspace and into the vibrant energy of the markets has been my entire purpose. Standing there alongside my aged perfumes and rows of rollerballs has given me so much insight, connecting me directly to you as living, breathing humans. You are not invisible online avatars or faceless e-commerce data points down a screen; you are real people looking to connect on a deeply emotional level with scent. You are individuals who want to feel genuinely good, who want to invite absolute alignment into your daily workspace transitions, and who are ready to clear away the toxic, mass-produced synthetic chemicals from your everyday beauty products. Hearing your stories, listening to what your nervous systems natively crave when you breathe in our testers, and understanding exactly what you need or want from a botanical routine has given me the precise clarity I needed to find my footing and to continue to evolve and develop Analu beyond this first year. Navigating this milestone as a solo maker can feel immensely overwhelming, but your shared warmth has shown me that this craft is a collaborative, human-to-human bridge. Every conversation we shared has directly informed a massive, intentional update across our entire digital flagship storefront and led me to this latest round of updates, new products, and the streamlining of everything I make so it is now ready to go into boutiques, spas, and on retail shelves. If you click through this newly updated website today, you will find our complete lifestyle themes and functional mindsets beautifully expanded across both our liquid space sprays and our wood-cap hanging car clips and some new products coming soon - as soon as they are done aging. I have also launched an entirely updated Botanical Glossary & Tincture Library that documents the exact molecular fingerprints, sustainable sourcing pipelines, and IFRA safety standards behind all 150+ of our raw essential oils, tree resins, and hand-ground evergreens. I carry this ancient perfumery art form forward with deep respect and admiration for the craft, but your presence at my booth reminds me why adding clinical aromatherapy to the mix matters so much. We are layering these raw plant extractions for their chemistry, their ancestral uses, and their direct, soothing impact on our brain. Thank you for standing with me, for sharing your ideas and feedback with me, and for celebrating the unfiltered terroir of our Wisconsin farm. The new site is live and in the next week more of the products will be available in the store, and we will be launching on Faire. I am honored to welcome you back inside! In gratitude, Denise

Analu perfume is good for you and good for the planet. We make sustainable wellness simple by using only 100% natural, sustainably sourced essential oils that are not only beneficial to humans—but also kind to the Earth. Many fragrances contain hidden chemicals, even when they call themselves “natural.”Let’s take a closer look at chemicals to avoid, because we believe that truly natural is essential to wellness. The next time you see words like clean fragrance, safe, or all-natural, you’ll know what they might really mean. If you see the word “Fragrance” or “Parfum” on a label, know that it’s often a placeholder for a secret blend of chemicals—sometimes hundreds. These undisclosed ingredients can include phthalates, allergens, and synthetic compounds known to trigger headaches, anxiety, skin reactions, and even disrupt hormones. Phthalates like DEP or DBP help synthetic scents last longer but are linked to hormone disruption, reproductive harm, and developmental concerns. Preservatives like methylparaben or propylparaben are added to keep products shelf-stable but can mimic estrogen, potentially contributing to hormone imbalances and increased breast cancer risk. Even “clean” scents can be misleading. Ingredients like Galaxolide and Tonalide don’t break down easily, build up in the body and environment, and are suspected endocrine disruptors. Other chemicals like Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT), often used to extend shelf life, may be toxic to the liver, disrupt hormones, or cause skin irritation. Petroleum-based ingredients such as mineral oil, paraffin, and petrolatum are marketed as moisturizers, but they provide no real nourishment. Instead, they may clog pores and contain contaminants like 1,4-dioxane, a known carcinogen. Some PEGs (Polyethylene glycols), used to thicken or hydrate, can also be contaminated with harsh chemicals that irritate the skin. And those familiar bubbles and lather? They often come from ingredients like SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate), which have been linked to skin sensitivity, damage to the skin barrier, and even nervous system concerns over time. To view the full list of hidden chemicals and why we never use them, visit the Analu Community and download our free Hidden Chemicals Reference Guide. At Analu, “100% Natural” is not just a label—it’s a promise. It’s our commitment to your well-being, to the planet, and to the sacred connection between scent and spirit. We’re launching this summer with four signature perfumes, a line of pure botanical aromabutter™, and a fully integrated online community that promotes wellness, mental health, and connection to something real—something sustainable and truly good for you. Join us! In a world filled with “Wellness” and “Beauty” buzzwords with confusing labels, “natural” is
one of the most misunderstood. Many companies use the word natural to suggest purity or safety—but look closer, and you’ll often find synthetic chemicals, hidden preservatives, and artificial fragrance blends hiding behind the label. Just because it says natural doesn’t mean it honors your body, your breath, or the Earth. At Analu, we hold a higher standard. What “Natural” Means to Us To Analu Perfume, natural means that every ingredient in our perfumes and AromabuttersTM fixatives comes from plants, not petrochemicals. It means 100% transparency and accountability in working with nature's rhythms. We use only: • 100% Essential oils, CO2 extracts, and absolutes • Cold-pressed plant oils and butters • Natural preservatives, like vitamin E and rosemary extract • Ingredients that are safe for your body and for the Earth • Organic cane alcohol for our eau de parfum No synthetic fragrance oils. Parabens free. Phthalates free. No greenwashing. Why Analu is the best 100% Natural Fragrance Perfume and 100% all natural aromabutter™ Your skin is your largest organ. Your breath is your connection to life. What you put on your body and inhale into your lungs affects your mind, mood, hormones, and overall well-being. We make more than just scent— Analu Perfumes are a determination to prioritize self-care for emotional support and nervous system care. I spent 2 years designing Analu perfumes using only 100% Essential oils blended with intention.
